Cantina di Negrar Valpolicella 2023 - Italy

A classic Valpolicella, mainly comprised of the properly underrated Corvina grape variety. Bright, ruby red in colour, this is a medium bodied wine, supported by red cherry and plum fruit with a hint of herbal spice character that persists on the palate.

The vineyards are situated in the heart of the Valpolicella Classico zone at an altitude between 100 and 250 meters. The soils are varied, but predominantly clay-loam. The vines are trained in a Double Pergoletta system, with sward grasses encouraged between rows to reduce the need for weeding or pesticides. Consisting of 230 growers and 700 hectares, Cantina di Negrar is a co-operative located just a few kilometres from Verona, in the heart of Valpolicella. They are one of the major producers in Valpolicella Classico owning a quarter of all Classico Vineyards, and are the only winery to have vineyards in all 5 communes of the region. 

A fine companion for all pasta and meat dishes. Perfect with mature cheese.
