Burrowing Owl Pinot Noir 2021 - Canada

  • Pinot Noir
  • Red
  • Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, Canada
  • 13.0 ABV

Grown in British Columbia, like our founder, Robert, Burrowing Owl is one of Canada's best known estates, and for good reason! Jim Wyse purchased the vineyard in 1993, carefully selected for its potential to produce high quality grapes, and immediately began to replant the vineyards. Ever since their first vintage the estate's wines have been sought after.

Hand harvested on October 11th after a record hot June and long warm growing season, the Pinot grapes were fermented in stainless steel and then in Oak barrel for 9months.

A silky textured, ripe fruit flavoured Pinot Noir showing red and black cherry, berry compote, pie crust, cocoa and orange zest with some tobacco and subtle savoury gamy, meaty notes. Medium-bodied with crisp acidity and light tannin, the elegant palate shows paprika and baking spice, potpourri, dark chocolate, dried cherry and plum with good length. Try with grilled chorizo with chimichurri, or grilled portobello mushrooms marinated with garlic and rosemary.
